In 2001, I was given some devasting news from my doctor. At the time, I was pregnant with twins, after struggling with infertility for 13 years. I had an ultrasound and my doctor discovered that I had lost one of the twins. I had suffered SO much loss during my journey to motherhood, I was devastated. I ran into the bathroom at Evergreen Hospital and numbly stood in the corner and sobbed. As I was standing there, a woman, who was standing at the sink, walked over and asked me if I was OK. She asked if she could give me a hug and then handed me TWO angel coins. She had no idea who I was or what I was dealing with. That simple act of kindness forever changed my life! I was also a recipient of another act of kindness from my fertility doctor, two years later. She offered to donate her fee for a procedure, I had decided to decline. The procedure was $2000 and because my chances of conception were less than one percent, I decided not to do the procedure. She knew all that I had been through in my journey to motherhood and wanted to help. I decided to do the procedure and because of her incredible kindness, had a healthy baby, 9 months later. I am now gratefully, the proud mother of two beautiful children, one boy and one girl! They inspire me every day, to make a difference in this sometimes-difficult world, by spreading kindness! I invite you to join me and spread some kindness in your own community!
