From March 6-12, Duvall will be celebrating its 11th local Random Acts of Kindness Week.
The community of Duvall Random Acts of Kindness organization and the Cedarcrest Random Acts of Kindness Club spread kindness in our community and schools throughout the year.
During Duvall Random Acts of Kindness Week, the group is joining efforts to lead the community in celebrating generosity and kindness towards everyone in the community and the world. They will be celebrating each day with a new way to express Random Acts of Kindness in hopes that everyone will find even just one day to be generous towards a neighbor, friend, family or even a stranger.
Manners Monday: A day to remember the simple phrases such as “please,” “thank you,” and “you’re welcome.”
Food Day Tuesday: Tuesday will be the day that the group asks to donate to our local food bank. There will be locations to drop off in front of Country Collections and the local schools.
Wishful Wishes for the World: Wednesday will be a day adults and children are asked to write up wishes they may have for the world. It would be great to collect these to see what children say.
Thankful Thursday: Post what you are thankful about on social media. Sit at the table and tell everyone what you are all thankful for. Send a thank you note to your favorite teacher, business owner, fireman or police officer.
Fun Flower and Happy Honking Friday: This is done once a year and it is always a hit. Duvall Random Acts of Kindness members line the streets of downtown to have motorists honk for kindness and our local businesses. Join us Friday, after school, for a couple hours of fun. (Remember to honk when you see us.) We also randomly hand out flowers to residents who are shopping and dining locally. It’s a great day to just randomly give someone a flower in your community or at your school.
Silent Saturday: A perfect day to unplug and connect face-to-face. Turn off all electronics and spend quality time with one another. Play board games and have a family meal together. Get together with friends for coffee or dinner. Consider shopping and dining locally.
Sparkling Sunday: Take a walk or bike along our beautiful trails and pick up trash along the way. There will be bright yellow garbage bags and free garbage grabbers in front of Country Collections in Duvall.
