How the Community of Duvall is Spreading Kindness:
What was the Healing Hearts and Helping Hands Workshop for Sandy Hook?
by Connie Berg:
I want to thank Jack Madigan for his vision for an amazing event at Stillwater Elementary. On March 1st, a Kindness Workshop was held at Stillwater Elementary. It was called, Healing Hearts and Helping Hands for Sandy Hook. At the event, community members, young and old were encouraged to make hearts at one of the 17 art stations. The theme of the evening was, a Healing Hearts campaign for mental health care support in public schools. Pictures were taken with the hearts that were made, along with video messages to the President. All of the hearts, photos and videos will be sent the President Obama. There were also approx. 150 Kindness Kits given out. Each kit included a list of the names of the 26 victims of Sandy Hook and a checklist to complete 26 Random Acts of Kindness in their honor! Once completed, the lists can be folded and mailed to the Sandy Hook address, pre-printed on them. It was an amazing evening, one I will never forget. If everyone completes their 26 Random Acts of Kindness, Duvall will be crushed with Kindness! ( I copied that line from Jack!)
Thank you again Jack and also Darcy, Ann Marie, Leanne, Linda, Ryan, Karyn, Kerry, Peggy, the RAK students from Cedarcrest, Carol, Orlene and all the amazing art docents!!!
